- Kitemill is a very exciting company that has a responsible and good approach to quality and quality management, says Otto de Besche. He has worked extensively with management and strategy at Avinor for a period of 20 years. In Kitemill, de Besche will contribute in risk management, strategy and quality.
-Quality management is something that must take place all the time, says Otto de Besche. He was born in Oslo and grew up close to the old Fornebu airport. Thus, he became interested and inspired by aviation from an early age. He is an engineer at the Scandinavian Academy of Aeronautical Engineering in Gothenburg.
Air traffic controller when Gardermoen opened
In addition, he has a master's degree in mathematics and computer science from the University of Oslo, as well as an air traffic controller education at Avinor. In the period from 1983 to 2018, he was air traffic controller at Fornebu, Bodø and for the last 20 years at Gardermoen, where he was also chief air traffic controller. He was on duty in the air traffic tower when Gardermoen was opened on October 8, 1998. He has also been active in the model aircraft community in Norway for a long time. He has had a recreational pilot certificate and is engaged in competitive flying with model gliders. It was in this environment that he became acquainted with Jo Grini from Kitemill.
Kitemill engaged the Besche in the fall of 2019.
Contributes to a better globe
-I think it is exciting to work in Kitemill, together with a bunch of committed experts in several fields. It is fun to be part of a development work that helps us sometime in the future to hand over the globe to new generations, in a better condition than the globe is today. Kitemill contributes with sustainable and environmentally sound solutions, for the benefit of the future. It is clear that it is inspiring to be part of this work, says Otto de Besche.
Develops a new type of aircraft
- We at Kitemill are developing a new type of aircraft, a kind of hybrid of both drone, kite and glider. This development must take place in accordance with the regulations for aviation. I am concerned that we show openness. We need to tell what we do and how we do it. This openness is important especially towards potential customers and other stakeholders, says Otto de Besche.
