Narve Rio, Kitemill. Analysis and market employee

"In my many years of assistance and development aid, I quickly understood what was most sought after. That was neither food nor money. It was simply simple, easily accessible and cheap electric power. I am convinced that Kitemill's solutions can contribute to a fairer world where the goods are better distributed, "says Narve Rio.

He has been working for Kitemill since the autumn of 2017. Narve Rio has long and wide experience in research and in consulting internationally since 1997. He is a graduate of social economics from the University of Bergen (UiB). Rio has previously worked for organizations and institutions such as the UN, NGOs and the Center for International Forest Research, in countries such as Afghanistan, East Timor and Indonesia among other places in Asia and Eastern Europe over the past 20 years.

"I see many exciting opportunities for Kitemill. Technology is very much in the wind today. There are many trends in society that point towards increased commitment to environmentally friendly, sustainable and renewable energy globally. In this picture, Kitemill's solutions fit perfectly. I believe that actors like the UN and the major crisis response market can be very receptive to mobile off-grid energy solutions, which we represent in Kitemill. The reason I work for Kitemill is that I think we can make a difference. Our solutions are very suitable for developing countries and poor villages far out in the countryside, far from safe power supply. If jobs are to be created locally where people live, they must have electrical power. Kitemill's solutions can provide them", says Narve Rio.

He adds that he has noted that major players such as the World Bank and major international development banks in recent years have shown increasing interest in investments in new alternative environmentally friendly power generation.
